Booking Policy: Changes, Cancellation and Rental Commitments

Updated: October 18, 2026 · Vrenty Car

This page explains how to read and use the conditions attached to a Seychelles car reservation. Vrenty Car is an independent affiliate, not the rental supplier or booking intermediary. Localrent's booking terms, the selected offer and the supplier's agreement determine the commitments for your reservation. The guidance below helps you identify deadlines, send a clear request and keep the response, without replacing those documents with a universal cancellation or refund promise.

Identify which document answers the question

A reservation can involve several records: the car listing, final calculation, booking terms, voucher and supplier agreement. The listing helps you assess the offer before payment. The voucher records the booking and practical contacts. The supplier agreement governs the vehicle as hired. If your question concerns the online payment or reservation cancellation, start with the booking service's applicable terms. If it concerns the car's condition, use or return, the supplier's agreement is central.

Do not resolve an apparent conflict by choosing whichever sentence is most favourable. Ask the responsible provider to clarify the specific booking and retain the response. General text on Seychelles car rental is useful background but does not amend a contract. Before paying, identify any essential requirement that is not clearly answered, such as a late collection, named-card rule or return at a different location. It is easier to choose another suitable offer before committing than to reconstruct the terms later.

Read cancellation as a deadline and a financial calculation

Find the cancellation deadline for the selected category and any optional flexibility product. Then identify what happens to the booking payment, whether a payment-service fee is retained and which channel must receive the request. A label such as free cancellation may have a time limit and specific conditions. It should not be read as a promise that every amount is refundable at any moment or that a supplier will refund unused days after collection.

The Localrent Seychelles terms reviewed distinguish ordinary cancellation, certain vehicle categories and an optional cancellation condition. They also describe payment-service charges. Because the applicable offer matters, this guide does not turn those provisions into one deadline for every booking. Keep the version you accepted and check the exact local rental start date and time when assessing a deadline. If the wording is unclear, obtain clarification before relying on it for a reservation whose travel dates remain uncertain.

Send a cancellation through the required channel

Use the cancellation method stated in the booking terms or confirmation. Include the booking reference and enough information to identify the reservation unambiguously. Make the request explicit: asking whether cancellation is possible is not necessarily the same as instructing cancellation. Save the sent request, timestamp and reply. If you have two island rentals, identify which one you are cancelling; a general message about the holiday can leave the intended scope unclear.

Check that the cancellation has been acknowledged and what financial outcome has been stated. Do not assume that deleting the voucher, missing collection or telling an unrelated representative cancels the reservation correctly. If the request is time-sensitive, use the verified support routes shown by the booking service, while keeping evidence of the request. The contact page points to official channels. It does not promise that every channel is staffed at all times or that a response is immediate.

Understand an amendment before surrendering the original booking

A change of dates, car or location can affect both price and availability. Localrent's country terms describe modifications through cancellation and a new reservation, so do not assume a change simply edits the original record while preserving the old rate and vehicle. Ask how your specific request will be handled and what charges or cancellation consequences apply. Establish the available replacement arrangement before taking an irreversible step with the existing reservation.

For a change of main driver, provide the accurate new driver details and confirm eligibility and payment compatibility. A different person may not meet the car's requirements or named-card condition. For changed arrival times, check whether the selected handover remains available. Keep the revised voucher or written confirmation and discard outdated instructions from your travel checklist without deleting the historical record. The driver should know which version governs collection, especially when another passenger arranged the booking.

Treat a flight delay as a request to coordinate

A delayed flight does not automatically move a rental appointment or waive its conditions. Notify the supplier and booking service as instructed, using the reference, new flight details and best arrival estimate. Ask whether collection can proceed, whether the meeting point changes and whether a fee applies. If a delay becomes a cancellation or rerouting, provide that update too. A supplier monitoring the original flight may not know that you are now travelling on a different service.

The Seychelles airport rental guide explains how to prepare the contact and fallback before travel. Airport collection itself must be eligible for the offer and time; a list of cars in an airport search is not a promise of an overnight representative. If the revised arrival makes the original arrangement impossible, ask for the available options and their consequences. Do not create a duplicate reservation before understanding the status of the first.

Avoid an uncoordinated no-show

If you cannot reach the agreed collection, contact the provider before the appointment wherever possible. The reviewed country terms treat an uncoordinated failure to arrive at the specified place and time as a late cancellation. Keep the booking telephone reachable and use the agreed channel for updates. A flight disruption, missing document or payment problem may explain the difficulty, but explanation alone does not establish that the reservation has been changed.

If you reach the collection point but cannot find the representative, record where you are and contact the supplier promptly. Check the voucher rather than following instructions for another rental company. Keep the conversation factual and ask what to do next. If the supplier is unavailable, use official booking support with the reference and timeline. Do not leave the area without trying to establish the situation, then assume that the booking will be refunded automatically.

Know what can prevent the car from being handed over

The supplier checks the driver, documents and payment at collection. A completed online reservation does not replace those checks. Missing originals, an ineligible driver or an unacceptable payment method can prevent handover. Before paying, read the requirements for your actual licence, age, experience and card. The no-credit-card guide separates the online advance, balance and deposit so that a successful first payment is not mistaken for approval of every later method.

If a problem arises at collection, ask the supplier and booking service what approved alternatives exist. Do not informally substitute a driver or payment card and assume the agreement remains valid. Keep the proposed solution and any revised price in writing. If no workable solution exists, ask how the applicable cancellation or failure-to-collect conditions will be applied. This guide cannot promise a refund when a required document or payment condition was not met.

Confirm extensions before the rental ends

A later return may conflict with another reservation or a supplier's handover schedule. Request an extension before the agreed return time and ask for the new total, accepted payment and revised location or procedure. Do not assume that continued possession of the keys means the extension has been accepted. If the request is refused, arrange the return under the existing agreement and consider other transport for the remaining time.

An earlier return also needs practical coordination, particularly outside attended hours. Ask where to leave the car, how to return the keys and how the condition will be recorded. Returning early does not automatically create a refund for unused time. Check the applicable terms before shortening the hire for financial reasons. The rental period and the handover procedure are linked, but a change to one does not silently change every other obligation in the agreement.

Keep location changes within the booked island

An airport, office, hotel and ferry-area return are different services. A supplier may permit some combinations and charge for others. Request the exact change and confirm acceptance, rather than assuming a nearby location is interchangeable. Include the address, entrance and local time. If a return moves to an office, plan the onward transfer and luggage capacity. Convenience at the destination is only part of the change; the supplier must be able to receive the car there.

Localrent's Seychelles conditions prohibit taking the vehicle off its home island. A change from Mahe to Praslin is therefore not an ordinary one-way amendment. Use separate rentals and passenger travel, as explained in the island hopping guide. If that passenger journey changes, update each affected reservation separately. A response from one island's supplier does not authorise a different arrangement with the other supplier or with the ferry or airline.

Distinguish booking refunds from deposit settlement

A cancellation refund concerns the booking payment under the booking service's terms. A security-deposit release or repayment concerns the supplier's security transaction. The two can involve different organisations, methods and records. Identify which amount you are asking about before contacting support. If a booking refund is approved, retain the confirmation and transaction reference. If a deposit remains unresolved, request the supplier's return assessment and release or repayment details.

Published booking documents can describe processing periods differently, and a bank may display an authorised action later than the provider performs it. This guide therefore does not promise a fixed refund date. Ask which timeframe applies to your transaction and what evidence confirms it has been initiated. Do not count a pending card authorisation as a completed charge without checking its status. The deposit guide explains the records useful for that distinction.

Handle a disagreement with a concise record

Prepare a timeline containing the booking, requested change, provider response, collection or return and disputed amount. Attach the relevant terms, voucher and receipts through a verified channel. Explain the result you are asking the provider to clarify or correct. Avoid unrelated documents and unnecessary sensitive information. A clear record of the actual request and response is more useful than a long account that mixes separate bookings and transactions.

If the concern is a substitute vehicle, state the specific difference that affects the booking: transmission, passenger capacity, luggage space or a confirmed accessibility requirement. Ask how the provider proposes to resolve that difference before accepting an additional charge. A disagreement about a necessary feature is easier to assess when linked to the original confirmation and the actual car offered.

Vrenty Car cannot override the intermediary's terms, waive supplier charges or guarantee the outcome of a dispute. The purpose of this page is to help you act on the conditions before a problem grows. Read how it works for the full booking sequence and keep essential confirmations accessible during travel. Where the applicable documents remain unclear, resolve the specific point with the responsible organisation rather than treating general website guidance as a binding exception.

  • Identify the reservation and the exact change requested.
  • Check the deadline, required channel and possible financial consequence.
  • Send the request clearly and preserve the timestamp.
  • Obtain confirmation of the new arrangement or cancellation.
  • Keep payment and return records until the matter is settled.

Questions & answers

Does free cancellation mean every payment is always returned?

Read the selected offer and applicable terms. Timing, category, optional products and payment-service charges can affect the result. Do not assume the label permits cancellation at any time or guarantees reimbursement of every amount after the deadline.

Can I cancel by telling the driver at the airport?

Use the required booking cancellation channel and obtain acknowledgement. A conversation with a representative may not complete the intermediary's cancellation process. Keep the reference and request clear, particularly when more than one rental is included in the holiday.

What if my return is delayed by weather?

Contact the supplier promptly to request an accepted arrangement. Follow road closures and safety instructions, and do not rush to recover time. A weather problem does not itself confirm an extension or remove the need to agree the return procedure and any charges.

Can this page change the terms on my voucher?

No. It is explanatory guidance from an independent affiliate. The applicable booking documents and supplier agreement govern the reservation. Ask the responsible provider to clarify inconsistencies and keep any authorised change with your records.
